From the earliest days of Southern Cross Kids' Camps the vision has remained strong to 'make a difference in the heart of a child' through acceptance, understanding and compassion. The stories of love, relationship, transformation and hope are inspirational as we see the work of SCKC changing the shape of generations to come through this rescue mission of hope that we call Southern Cross Kid's Camps. What an awesome year we have ahead as we launch our 'make A Difference-2010' campaign to see even more lives touched with the reality of hope and wholeness. Sadly, the statistcal data reflects to us that child maltreatment is an epidemic in Australia. Recent research suggest that up to 250,000 children experience some form of abuse, neglect or abandonment in our country, that is one every 13 minutes! (Australian Childhood Foundation 2008) The time is right for us to step up and lead our world in demonstrating appropriate care, nurture and love for our children. I hope you will consider partnering with us to make a difference now for the future our children will inherit.
